Back in the day many people, myself full included in those numbers, were leaning toward the idea that the future of the RTS genre was all about size and scope. I didn't want to worry about the small details. I didn't want to focus on maximizing the usage of a singe troop or unit, I wanted to command entire armies and construct vast bases. I wanted huge artillery batteries and defenses that ludicrous in scope.
